The JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn and Resort is surrounded by acres of desert hills, rivers and diverse flora and fauna as well as other destinations for fun and adventure. As a Five-Star participant, you have the option of adding a specially selected adventure to your experience.
Hot Air Balloon
Soar above the Sonoran desert raft, enjoying breathtaking views of the painted desert below. Your adventure includes a preflight briefing, post-flight champagne light breakfast and initiation into the select fraternity of balloonist, including a certificate d’ascension en machine aerostatique.
Schedule:
5:15 a.m. departure from hotel
Wear:
Comfortable, cool clothing with closed-toed shoes.
Restrictions:
This activity is not recommended for pregnant women or people who have had recent back surgery.
Includes:
Preflight briefing, post-flight champagne breakfast, initiation ceremony and certificate.

River Float
Enjoy a peaceful float passing through the Tonto National Forest. Take in views of rugged terrain and stately ancient trees, hardy plants and local wildlife as you relax with friends about an inflatable raft, ably guided by an experienced professional. Lifejackets will be provided and are required.

8:00 a.m. departure. Four hours total duration
Wear:
Comfortable, cool clothing with water shoes, no flip-flops
What to bring:
Sunscreen, insect repellent, hat or cap, and camera

Life jackets, professional guide

Kayaking
Enjoy a scenic kayak tour of the Salt River as it winds through the Tonto National Forest. The adventures class 1 rating – the lowest for kayaking – means you’ll have plenty of time to focus on birdwatching and spotting the areas abundant wildlife.

Individual waivers must be completed prior to activity
